CPD Revolution is back for its 5th year of in-person events. Join us, our workshop partners, exhibitors and keynote speakers for a jam-packed day of CPD aimed at accessibility and wellbeing professionals from the Disabled Students Allowance (DSA) sector, wider Higher Education sector, and workplace sector. Keynote speakers

Each CPD Revolution event will start the day with a highly topical keynote address on ADHD, delivered by respected thought leaders with lived experience of neurodiversity. 

Tanja Conway -Grim

Presenting in: Reading, Plymouth and Bristol

Tanja will be running fun, interactive, practical and bespoke workshops on working with ADHD students, to help attendees understand how ADHD may impact a student and what they can do to support them.

The workshop will be based on Tanja’s specialist coaching and mentoring that she provides for neurodivergent people, including university students with ADHD, covering:

  • What is ADHD (including co-occurring and co-morbid conditions)?
  • What are the strengths and challenges?
  • How do you help someone prioritise?
  • How to support focus and concentration and prevent overwhelm.

Liss Chard-Hall and Nikki Chard-Hall

Presenting in: Coventry, Manchester and Newcastle Upon Tyne

Liss Chard-Hall is an ADHD-Autistic self-advocate, working as a specialist study skills tutor and mentor in higher education, as well as a lecturer in autism history. Nikki Chard-Hall is an autistic self-advocate with OCD and works as a specialist autism mentor. 

During their keynote address ‘ADHD: A Recipe,’ Liss and Nikki will discuss the obstacles of navigating university with ADHD. This talk will look at the misconceptions of ADHD, how ADHDers are viewed by society, and how a few simple changes in ingredients can set them up for success. 

The CPD Revolution 2023 hosts

As hosts, the eQS Disability Support team will be presenting case studies that bring disability support to life through storytelling as well as hands-on product trials.

eQS Head of Operations Natasha Hardiman and eQS Strategic Relationship Manager Michelle Brown will present case studies on how two different individuals in different environments with different learning needs each received NMH and e-learning support and how this affected their outcomes.

The case studies presentation will feature on the main presentation stage and eQS will also be offering live product trials and discussion on our end-to-end disability support services in the exhibitors space.

During our workshop we’ll be exploring the digital support Brain in Hand provides such as simple digital tools for organising time, managing anxiety, and solving problems when you can’t remember what to do. Whether its managing study plans or attending lectures, travelling or talking to the people who support you, Brain in Hand can help. We will also demonstrate the simple to use traffic light system for mood monitoring. This helps users to reflect on their progress and celebrate achievements. 

Booost Education provides smart tools for those who think and learn differently. Founded by education and student support specialists, the goal was to provide support in the areas where they knew individuals struggled. Namely, helping those who have trouble knowing what to do and when, and making sure they have constant access to wellbeing support and advice. 

Attendees of our workshop can expect a demo of our products to see the ways they help users to maximise their learning; it’s also a great chance to ask any questions you may have about Booost or our products.

Present Pal

Did you know that 80% of people with ADHD have at least one other diagnosis? In this interactive Present Pal workshop, attendees will explore some of the presentation challenges individuals with ADHD and other neurodiversities and mental health conditions can experience. The Present Pal app is an accessible flashcard app designed with these challenges in mind. Attendees will experience the Present Pal app first hand and will learn how its features can support users with ADHD and other diagnoses to overcome their presentation challenges and achieve their presentation goals.

Glean is a note taking tool that helps improve grades, boost confidence and reduce stress. With Glean, you never have to worry about missing important information again! Record lectures or meetings in full, listen back at your own pace, and annotate with different note types to create a complete learning resource – tailored to you. Glean is easy to use, works online or offline, in-person or virtually, providing space to focus on active listening, and then a process to refine and retain information effectively.

During our workshop we’ll showcase how Glean supports users who experience challenges with working memory, attention, cognitive load, executive functioning and information processing, empowering them to take meaningful audio notes with a proven note taking process.
